The second concert, titled ‘Female Emigrées’, features the works of Ursula Mamlok and Ruth Schonthal, who escaped from Nazi Germany via Latin America and eventually settled in the United States. Included are Mamlok’s former students, Tania León and Alba Potes, aslo emigrées from Latin America. Samantha Ege Speaks with Bettina Brand and introduces the composers and their works throughout the programme.
